PETER MONK & CANDACE STORCH
A DUO IN HARMONY
What we like even more than the Caribbean, it is the PEOPLE who love the Caribbean and who make it what it is: Rich and Multicultural!
It is for this reason we present to you today a duo coming straight from Brooklyn, with whom we met a few weeks ago:PETER MONK & CANDACE STORCH.
The duo have been working together for a while on their edm/dance/house records which have garnered them some recognition and success in that genre with songs like and “Sunny Days”, “Someone Like You” & “Feel The Music”.
Someone Like You
Whether it’s recording vocals, mixing a record, writing a melody, or making that energy infused chorus, Peter Monk is a perfectionist. Animated and charismatic, Monk takes pride in his ability to float from genre to genre.

Peter Monk

Candace is the main lyricist on all the records produced by dj/producer, Peter Monk.
She grew up on dancehall/reggae : everything from Bob Marley to Beenie Man all throughout high school.
After attending Reggae Sumfest in 2010, and hearing “So Blessed” and “Come Into My Room” by Mavado, she came back and told Peter‘We have to do dancehall!’
‘We have to do dancehall!’ -Candace
BKLYN SOUTH IS BORN!

Beats of New York
A collaboration with the singer PROPHET-Z will give the duo their first release “You’re the one”. They are distinguishing themselves via their electronically influenced sound and cutting-edge style.
You’re The One
“You’re The One” debuted at number one on ZipDJ Reggae charts and stayed there for three weeks. The song got picked up by Mood Music and is currently playing in national chain stores all over the country. Djs from several countries, including the US, The Caribbean, and England, and Japan have also been pumping it steadily.
I think the Brooklyn flavor is most evident in the lyrical content. The slang we use. We rep Bk to the fullest- like Biggie said ‘Spread love is the Brooklyn way’! -Candace
They wanted to make something harder and more street for the clubs
Monk went into the studio and made a stellar second production.Candace and Z wrote the lyrics together, and she produced Z’s vocals. The result was ‘Run Round Ya” !
The response has been amazing! Its gotten it's props from people like Richie Loop and has been played on Jamaica's own Zip Fm. Djs like Max Glazer, ZJ Elektra, & WBLS' own Dj Trends have been playing the track.
‘The blend of edm and deejay style is fresh and exciting’
ROCKING THE DANCEFLOOR WORLDWIDE !
Their current release ‘Stunt Pon Dem” is another hard track with their signature style about to blaze a fire from Brooklyn and Jamaica!
Once again, showcasing their ability to craft a song that sounds like a hit, the futuristic production and incorporation of electric guitars in a dancehall record is cutting edge and is a perfect marriage of the ‘Stunt’ concept, thought of by Storch. The song is about being original and ‘Stuntin’ on your haters.
