Beenie Man Celebrates Legacy with New Album 'Eminence'
The King of Dancehall Showcases His Evolution with a Genre-blending Project Featuring Global Stars.
Grammy Award-winning artist Beenie Man continues to shape the sound of Caribbean music with the release of his powerful new album, 'Eminence'. This project not only highlights his enduring legacy but also features collaborations with major artists like Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, T.I., and Ashanti, showcasing a unique blend of genres while remaining deeply rooted in Jamaican culture.
Produced by the acclaimed Kemar McGregor, 'Eminence' was crafted over a year and a half, recorded across various cities including Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, and Kingston. Beenie Man reflects on the creative process, stating, "As we continued recording and developing the songs, what started as a few tracks grew into something much bigger. That creative chemistry ultimately led me to trust him with producing the entire album, making 'Eminence' one of the most distinctive projects I’ve created in my career this far."
The album opens with the infectious “876/305,” featuring Rick Ross, which draws a direct line from Jamaica to Miami. Tracks like “Don’t Rush,” featuring Mýa, and “Do It,” with Lola Brooke, further exemplify the album's genre-blending nature. The collaboration with Snoop Dogg on “For You” fuses West Coast G-Funk with authentic dancehall, while the posse cut “Make Out” brings together a dynamic mix of artists, delivering a blend of rapid-fire toasts and smooth melodies.
