Bloodclat, Le Blackout: l’Homme Paille Launches Fondation Paille…

by Valérie Toto for KRIBBEAN

On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, as the winners of the Bloodclat challenge were announced, the music video for the title track premiered live on YouTube. It had already garnered 18,000 views on the platform when it was taken down the following Friday.

Tweets began to surface, questioning the potential censorship of the video, as Bloodclat firmly addresses the socio-economic challenges faced by the Caribbean and French Guiana.

Soon after, tweets, stories, and posts from personalities, deejays, and challenge winners emerged, prompting both the public and the artist himself to inquire about this sudden disappearance.

The Launch of the Paille Foundation

These hashtags are regularly shared. It gradually becomes clear that this communication seems to lead to a project much more elaborate than mere censorship.

On Sunday, August 16, 2020, a hint of clarification emerged when a video appeared on YouTube with the introduction:

“The observation is unfortunately too comfortable to be sufficient.”

This was shared on the artist's Instagram page with the caption, “I’m not necessarily comfortable with the form, but the substance justifies the effort... the little communication twist is followed by the BIG LEAP... PS See you tomorrow... not just for #bloodclat after all.”

A communication stunt for a large-scale project, which will be the launch of the Bourse Paille 2020, but that’s not all. Stay tuned!
